Russian drones attack aftermath: Casualties increase in Odesa
The number of casualties in Odesa as a result of a Russian kamikaze drone attack has increased. The injured man died in hospital, according to the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine and the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper.
Four people were injured in the suburbs of Odesa as a result of the downed Russian drone attack.
"One person died on the spot, another man, who was taken to the hospital in serious condition, died," the statement says.
The 17-year-old teenager remains in the hospital, the woman and the man are being treated on an outpatient basis.
The six-year-old child, who was reported earlier, was injured in a domestic fire unrelated to the drone attack.
In addition, 17 Shaheds were shot down in southern Ukraine last night. 8 in Odesa region, 5 in Kherson, 2 in Vinnytsia, and 2 in Mykolaiv.
Russian night drones attack
The Ukrainian Air Force has been reporting the launch of Shaheds since the evening of December 26. The Russians attacked Kherson and also launched kamikaze drones in the direction of Starokostiantyniv and Odesa.
Later, the Ukrainian Air Force clarified that the Russians had launched 46 kamikaze drones that night. Ukrainian air defense shot down 32 of them.
In the Odesa region, the warehouses of an agricultural research institution were hit. All Russian drones were shot down in Odesa, but the wreckage fell on one of the uninhabited new buildings. A drone shot down in mid-air also fell on country houses in the suburbs of Odesa, causing a fire to break out.
