Odesa attacked by Shaheds, one fatality and multiple injuries reported

On the night of December 27, Russian occupiers attacked Odesa and its surrounding areas with kamikaze drones. As a result of the enemy attack, there are casualties and injuries, report the Defense Forces South and the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper.
The combat operation to eliminate the Shaheds lasted for 7 hours. The drones flew in two waves at a 15-minute interval. Defense forces destroyed 17 drones in their area of responsibility, including 12 in the Odesa region, 3 in the Mykolaiv region, and 2 in the Vinnytsia region.
In the Odesa region, there was a hit on the facilities of an agricultural research institution. Information about the casualties is being clarified.
According to the military, the Russians concentrated their attacks on Odesa, where all enemy targets were successfully destroyed. Debris from the drones fell on one of the uninhabited new buildings. Also, a downed drone fell on houses in the suburbs of Odesa, causing a fire that has been extinguished.
In addition, the occupiers targeted Kherson, damaging a shopping center and apartment buildings.
Casualties
As a result of the attack, one person was killed, and three were injured, including a 17-year-old teenager.
The head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration specified that a 35-year-old man died. Two people were injured: a 37-year-old woman and a 17-year-old boy. The injured suffered multiple wounds and were hospitalized in a moderately severe condition.
The Minister of Internal Affairs, Ihor Klymenko, on the other hand, reports that as a result of the attack, four people were injured, including a 6-year-old child.
Details of the night attack
The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had been reporting launches of Shahed kamikaze drones since the evening of December 26. It is known that the Russians attacked Kherson and launched drones toward Starokostiantyniv and Odesa.
Later, the Air Force specified that the Russians launched 46 kamikaze drones that night. Ukrainian air defense shot down 32 of them. Air defense operations took place in the Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk, Vinnytsia, Zaporizhzhia, Khmelnytskyi, and Kirovohrad regions.
