Ukrainian military reports daily estimates of Russia’s combat losses in the war, tracking both personnel and military equipment destroyed or damaged on the battlefield.
The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to August 29, 2026 are estimated to be:
- Personnel ‒ nearly 1,485,200 (+1,420)

- Armored fighting vehicles ‒ 25,241 (+4)
- Special equipment ‒ 4,608 (+4)
- Vehicles and fuel tanks ‒ 141,059 (+318)
- Unmanned ground vehicles ‒ 2,429 (+9)

- MLRS ‒ 2,070 (+3)
- Air defense assets ‒ 1,593
- Aircraft ‒ 440

Frontline situation
Over the past two days, the Russian army has attempted to advance in various sectors of the front. However, in most cases, counterattacks by Ukraine's Defense Forces disrupted the enemy's plans, according to the ISW report.
Moreover, on the night of August 28, Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the Yaroslavl oil refinery using FP-1 drones. This is one of Russia's largest oil refineries, with a capacity of about 15 million metric tons of crude oil per year.
