Russian forces launched a drone attack on Odesa and the region overnight on October 12. Energy facilities were hit, buildings were damaged, and fires broke out, according to reports from Odesa Military Administration head Serhii Lysak and regional governor Oleh Kiper.
Lysak noted that in Odesa, a residential building and civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged as a result of the night attack. In addition, part of the city remains without electricity. Energy crews are currently working on restoration.
"Despite the difficult conditions, kindergartens and schools will continue to operate — they are equipped with generators," the head of the Military Administration added.

A little later, the head of the Regional Military Administration posted an update on the situation in the Odesa district. He confirmed a massive drone attack and reported that despite active air defense work, damage to an energy infrastructure facility was recorded.
"Warehouse premises, an administrative building, and a garage were also damaged. Fires broke out at the site, and rescuers promptly extinguished them. No information about casualties or injuries has been received," Kiper wrote.
He added that due to the Russian attack, several settlements are temporarily without power. Restoration work is ongoing, and critical infrastructure is operating on generators.
