As a result of the Russian attack on Lviv on January 15, stained glass windows in the architectural monument of the Church of Saints Olha and Elizabeth were damaged, according to the head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi.

On January 15, 2026, Russia attacked a playground on Stepan Bandera Street in Lviv with a combat drone.

Municipal workers who were clearing snow nearby at the time were not injured.

Russian strike shattered windows in nearby residential buildings, as well as in the buildings of Lviv Polytechnic University, a school, and a college. An architectural landmark was also damaged: stained glass windows were broken in the Church of Sts. Olha and St. Elizabeth.

In addition, temporary changes to public transport routes were introduced in the city due to the Russian attack.

Russian attacks on Lviv

On the morning of January 15, Russia struck Ukraine again. This time, explosions were heard in Lviv. An air raid siren was sounded in Lviv at 6:09 a.m. Kyiv time.

At 6:54 a.m., Mayor Andrii Sadovyi reported that a Russian combat drone had struck the center of Lviv.

Later, the mayor announced that due to the Russian attack, several streets in Lviv had been temporarily closed.

According to him, private and public transport are currently not running there.

Before that, on January 8, 2026, Russia struck Lviv with an Oreshnik ballistic missile for the first time in history. This is 70 km from the border with the European Union.

Mayor Sadovyi stated that there were no casualties or injuries. However, critical infrastructure has been destroyed.

The Security Service of Ukraine showed fragments of a Russian Oreshnik ballistic missile. The strike is classified as a war crime.
