Russian forces once again attacked Ukraine with strike drones on Christmas night, from December 24 to 25. The enemy has no military purpose, only the intent to kill Ukrainians, wrote Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.

"Russia did not stop its brutal bombing of civilians in Ukraine even on the holy Christmas night," Sybiha said.

He recalled that, in particular, one person was killed in Odesa that night and two others were injured. One civilian was killed in the Kharkiv region and another in the Chernihiv region. People were also injured in Zaporizhzhia and Sumy regions.

"Odesa suffers the most these days. Russia deliberately destroys energy and civilian infrastructure, leaving people without power, water, and heating amid freezing temperatures. No military purpose — just Russia's intent to kill people because they are Ukrainians," the minister stressed.

According to the foreign minister, such actions fall under Article II (c) of the 1948 Genocide Convention: "Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part."

"We urge the world to act, increase pressure on the aggressor, and strengthen Ukraine's means to defend itself and its people, including air defense," Sybiha said.

Attack on Ukraine on December 25

Russian forces attacked Ukraine overnight on December 25 with more than 130 strike drones from six directions. Air defense forces destroyed most hostile targets.

At the same time, impacts of 22 strike drones were recorded at 15 locations.

In particular, overnight, the enemy again struck the port and industrial infrastructure in the Odesa region. As a result of the attack, one person was killed, and two others were injured.

The attack also caused damage to administrative, production, and warehouse facilities. Fires broke out at some sites, which rescuers extinguished.

In addition, on Christmas night, Russia continued attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities. As a result, power outages were reported in Chernihiv, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, and Odesa regions.
