On July 17, the Russian army concentrated its efforts in the Pokrovsk and Toretsk directions. By evening, 22:00, there were 24 combat engagements reported on both directions, according to the Ukrainian General Staff.

Enemy shelling

According to the department, over the day, the enemy inflicted 43 airstrikes (using 58 guided bombs) on Ukrainian positions, along with 605 kamikaze drone strikes, and conducted 3230 shelling incidents.

Frontline situation

Since the beginning of the day, 118 combat engagements have been recorded on the frontlines.

In the direction of Kharkiv, 16 enemy attacks have been repelled, with 11 near Hlyboke and others near Vovchansk. As of now, since the start of the day, the aggressors have lost 94 servicemen killed and wounded. Additionally, 13 artillery systems, four vehicles, a combat armored vehicle, and two units of special equipment have been destroyed or damaged.

In the Kupiansk direction, Defense Forces repelled 10 enemy attacks in the areas of Pishchane, Berestove, Andriivka, and Synkivka.

In the Lyman direction, six unsuccessful enemy attempts to advance were recorded during the current day in the directions of Hrekivka, Makiivka, Terni, and Torske.

In the Siversk direction, the Russian army suffered losses in seven attempts to storm the positions of the Armed Forces near Verkhniokamianske, Rozdolivka, and Vyiimka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the total number of enemy attempts to improve their tactical position has increased to four. Fighting near Andriivka is ongoing, while other attacks have been repelled. The situation is under control.

In the Toretsk direction, 23 attacks by Russian forces have already been halted, with one battle still ongoing. Today, all enemy efforts were directed towards the areas of Pivnichne and New York.

"The defense forces are adequately responding to the aggressors' actions, taking necessary measures to exhaust their offensive potential," noted the General Staff.

Like the previous day, today the enemy has concentrated significant efforts in the Pokrovsk direction. Russian forces attempted 24 times to displace Ukrainian defenders from their positions. The efforts were focused near Novooleksandrivka and Novoselivka Persha.

"The enemy paid dearly for today's activity. According to updated information, the Russian army suffered a total of 304 casualties, killed and wounded. Destroyed were enemy APCs and IFVs, artillery pieces, four motorcycles, an MT-LB, and five vehicles. Additionally, eight artillery systems, one IFV, and 15 vehicles sustained significant damage," the statement reads.

In the Kurakhove direction, there were 12 enemy attacks near Hеorhiivka, Parasкoviivka, and Krasnohorivka. The battle continues near the latter, while all other attempts by the enemy to advance have been halted. The situation is under the control of the Defense Forces.

In the Vremivka direction, three clashes occurred. Enemy assaults were repelled in the areas of Kostiantynivka and Novodarivka.

In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian forces defended against seven enemy attacks in the directions of Verbove - Mala Tokmachka and Nesterianka - Novoandriivka. Six attacks have been repelled, and one is ongoing. The situation is under control.

In the Prydniprovsk direction, Ukrainian Armed Forces units repelled three enemy attacks on the left bank of the Dnipro River.

In the other directions, the situation remains unchanged at this time.

According to military officials, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are tracking the movements of enemy units and effectively deploying firepower.

"Today, we must commend the soldiers of the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade Magura who confidently hold back the Russian forces and inflict significant losses on the aggressor," summarized the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

As reported by RBC-Ukraine sources, Russia's advantage in artillery usage has decreased.

Additionally, reports of reduced ammunition gaps emerged when Ukraine began receiving shells as part of the Czech initiative. According to Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, as of July 16, 50,000 units of ammunition have been delivered.
