Russian airstrike kills 15-year-old and wounds entire family in Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia village

A 15-year-old boy was killed in a Russian airstrike on the village of Novoyakovlivka in the Zaporizhzhia region. His younger brother and sister, parents, and two other men were also wounded, reports Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration.
Ivan Fedorov reported that Russian forces attacked Novoyakovlivka twice. Preliminary information indicates both strikes were carried out using a high-explosive aerial bomb.
The boy's 12-year-old brother and 8-year-old sister were wounded. Their father, 40, and mother, 36, were also wounded. Two additional men, aged 41 and 51, were hurt. Fedorov said all victims are receiving necessary medical care.
"The family's home was destroyed. Nearby houses were damaged as well," he added.
Attack on Zaporizhzhia on August 10
On the evening of August 10, around 6:00 PM Kyiv time, the Russian army struck Zaporizhzhia, dropping two aerial bombs on the city.
One strike hit the Central Bus Station, causing severe damage. The second bomb hit a facility at Zaporizhzhia Medical University.
Fedorov released video footage of the attack. Rescue teams reported that at least 20 people were injured. One victim had to be pulled from the rubble.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the attack. RBC-Ukraine provides more details on its response.
As of August 12, the number of injured had risen to 24.
