Russia-Ukraine war: Situation on the front as of October 24

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian forces have repelled more than 10 enemy attacks. Ukrainian Defense Forces in the Kherson direction are engaged in counter-battery warfare, and in the Melitopol direction, they are carrying out an offensive operation, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russia's shelling
The enemy continues to disregard the laws and norms of warfare, using terrorist tactics, launching missile and aerial strikes, and shelling with multiple launch rocket systems not only against military targets but also against civilian objects in our country.
During the past 24 hours, there have been 55 military clashes. In total, the enemy carried out 4 missile strikes and 68 aerial strikes, as well as 49 shelling attacks with multiple launch rocket systems against our troops' positions and civilian settlements. Unfortunately, there have been casualties among the civilian population as a result of Russian terrorist attacks. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure have been damaged or destroyed.
Aerial strikes were experienced by:
Synkivka, Petropavlivka in the Kharkiv region;
Serebriansky Forestry area in the Luhansk region;
Klіshchiivka, New York, Avdiivka, Orlivka, Oleksandrivka, Maryinka, Novomykhailivka, Urozhaine, Staromayorske in the Donetsk region;
Novodarivka, Orihiv, Mala Tokmachka, Pyatyhatky in the Zaporizhzhia region;
Zmiyivka, Olhivka, Lvove, Tyahynka, Ivanivka, Mykilske, Sadove, Prydniprovske in the Kherson region.
Approximately 110 populated areas in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions came under artillery fire.
The frontline situation
The operational situation remains relatively unchanged in the Volyn and Polissia directions.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in border areas and conducts active sabotage activities to prevent the redeployment of our troops to critical areas, increasing the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border in the Belgorod region.
In the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled around 5 enemy attacks in the vicinity of the populated area of Ivanivka in the Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman direction, our troops are holding the defense steadfastly and successfully repelled all enemy attacks near Nadiya in the Luhansk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian forces repelled all enemy attacks in the areas of the populated places of Bohdanivka, Khromove, Klishchivka, and Andriivka in the Donetsk region. Ukrainian Defense Forces continue offensive actions south of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region, causing losses to the enemy in personnel and equipment, and consolidating their positions on the achieved lines.
In the Avdiivka direction, the enemy continues its attempts to encircle Avdiivka and actively employs aviation. However, our soldiers are holding the defense steadfastly and inflicting significant losses on the enemy. The enemy's offensive actions in the areas of Keramika, Stepove, Avdiivka, and Tonenke in the Donetsk region were unsuccessful, with the defense forces repelling over 10 enemy attacks.
In the Maryinka direction, the enemy's storming efforts in the areas of Maryinka and Pobeda in the Donetsk region were in vain. Ukrainian soldiers successfully repelled approximately 15 attacks by occupiers in this area.
In the Shakhtarsk and Zaporizhzhia directions, our defenders thwarted all enemy attacks near Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region and further southeast of Mala Tokmachka in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Offensive by Ukrainian Armed Forces
At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue their offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, achieving partial success south of Robotyne. They inflict casualties on the occupying forces in both personnel and equipment, and exhaust the enemy along the entire frontline.
In the Kherson direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are engaged in counter-battery warfare, delivering fire strikes on the enemy's rear positions.
Enemy losses
Over the course of the day, the Defense Forces' aviation conducted 7 strikes on areas where the enemy's personnel, equipment, and military vehicles were concentrated, and 3 strikes on the enemy's anti-aircraft missile systems.
Rocket troops units successfully targeted 8 artillery pieces, 4 areas with the concentration of enemy personnel, equipment, and military vehicles, an electronic warfare station, a pontoon bridge crossing used by the enemy, and conducted remote mining of terrain in two areas.
The total number of losses for the Russian army since the beginning of the invasion amounts to 294,700 military personnel.
