Russia-Ukraine war: situation on the front as of July 25

Ukrainian troops are advancing in Zaporizhzhia region, holding back Russian attacks near Avdiivka and destroying two enemy electronic warfare stations, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.
Russian attacks
Over the past day, the enemy launched 1 missile and 49 air strikes, fired more than 40 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of our troops and populated areas.
Unfortunately, there were civilian casualties, and residential buildings and other infrastructure were damaged.
The likelihood of missile and air strikes across Ukraine remains high.
Situation on the frontlines
About 20 combat engagements took place over the last day.
The situation in the Volyn and Polissia directions remained unchanged.
The enemy maintains a military presence in the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions. It carried out an air strike near Veterinary, Kharkiv region.
It fired mortar and artillery shells at more than 20 settlements, including Semenivka in the Chernihiv region; Vilna Sloboda, Svarkove, Stepne, Basivka, Mohrytsia, Pokrovka and Oleksandrivka in Sumy region; and Guryev Kozachok, Hraniv, Vovchansk, Bochkove, Budarky in Kharkiv region.
Ukrainian troops are holding steadfast in the Kupiansk direction. The enemy launched an air strike near Novoselivske in the Luhansk region.
Krasne Pershe, Dvorichna, Zakhidne, Kupyansk, Kyslivka, and Berestove in Kharkiv region came under artillery and mortar fire from the Russian armed forces.
In the Lyman direction, Russians conducted unsuccessful offensives in the area south of Dibrova in the Luhansk region and launched an air strike near Spirne in the Donetsk region.
The settlements of Nevske in the Luhansk region and Torske, Verkhnekamianske, Spirne, and Rozdolivka in the Donetsk region were shelled by Russian artillery.
In the Bakhmut direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces successfully repelled enemy attacks in the areas east of Stupochky and near Diliyivka in the Donetsk region. The Russian Armed Forces conducted air strikes near Klishchiyivka and Diliyivka.
More than 10 localities suffered from Russian artillery shelling, including Vasyukivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, and Pivnichne in the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, under heavy fire from Russian aviation and artillery, the Ukrainian Armed Forces successfully repelled attacks by Russian troops near Avdiivka.
At the same time, the Russian Armed Forces shelled more than 10 localities, in particular, Novokalynove, Avdiivka, Lastochkine, Vodiane, and Karlivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Maryinka direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the Russian offensive in the vicinity of the town of Mariinka.
Russian artillery shelled Krasnohorivka, Maksymilianivka, and Heorhiivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, Russian troops launched an air strike near Makarivka and shelled more than 10 localities, including Novomykhailivka, Vuhledar, Novoukrainka, and Velyka Novosilka in the Donetsk region.
On the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the Russian Armed Forces are focusing their main efforts on preventing further advance of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Russians conducted air strikes in the areas of Levadne and Mala Tokmachka in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Russian artillery shelled more than 20 settlements, including Novoandriivka, Levadne, Malynivka, Gulyaypole, Zaliznychne (Railway in Ukrainian), Stepove (Steppe in Ukrainian), Lobkove and Kamianske in Zaporizhzhia region; Dudchany, Beryslav, Kozatske, Molodizhne, Antonivka, Komyshany, Kizomys, Stanislav in Kherson region.
Ukrainian Armed Forces' offensive
At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct offensive operations in the Melitopol and Berdiansk sectors, consolidating their positions.
Enemy losses
Over the past day, Ukrainian aviation conducted 8 strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel, weapons, and military equipment of the Russian Armed Forces.
