Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of April 14

The number of enemy assaults on the front line has decreased compared to the previous day. Between the morning and evening of Monday, April 14, Ukrainian forces recorded 82 combat engagements, down from 117 the day before, reports Ukraine’s General Staff.
Military command provided an update on the operational situation as of 10:00 p.m. local time on April 14.
Russian shelling
According to the General Staff, over the day, Russian forces carried out 86 airstrikes on Ukrainian positions and populated areas, dropping a total of 117 guided aerial bombs.
In addition, the enemy launched 1,114 kamikaze drones and conducted nearly 5,000 artillery and mortar attacks.
Frontline situation
In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces attempted to advance toward Nova Kruhlyakivka, but the enemy's attack was stopped.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy launched 20 assaults on Ukrainian positions near the settlements of Nadiya, Nove, Katerynivka, Hrekivka, Zelena Dolyna, Torske, Bilohorivka, and Hryhorivka. Two clashes are still ongoing, the General Staff reported.
In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled two enemy attacks near Verkhnokamianske and Ivano-Daryivka, with one more battle still ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the Russian army carried out four attacks on Ukrainian positions near the settlements of Chasiv Yar and Andriivka and in the direction of Maiske. One battle is still ongoing.
In the Toretsk direction, the enemy launched 11 assaults on Ukrainian positions near the settlements of Ozarianivka and Toretsk. All Russian attacks were successfully repelled by Ukrainian forces.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the Russian army attempted to advance in the areas of Sukhа Balka, Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, Kotlyarivka, Bohdanivka, and Andriyivka. Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled 26 enemy assault actions, with two clashes still ongoing.
"Today, in this direction, preliminary reports indicate that 350 Russian soldiers were neutralized, including 166 killed. Additionally, two tanks, one artillery system, one MLRS, 34 vehicles, 14 UAVs, two UAV control points, and two ammunition depots were destroyed," the General Staff reported.
Furthermore, Ukrainian forces damaged six enemy artillery pieces and seven vehicles.
In the Novopavlivka direction, Russian forces attempted to break through Ukrainian defenses seven times in the areas of Kostyantynopil and Rozliv. One battle is still ongoing.
In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian forces are repelling seven enemy assaults in the areas of Stepove, Lobkove, and Maly Shcherbaky. The settlement of Novoandriivka was hit by airstrikes, the General Staff added.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, Ukrainian defenders halted two attempts by the enemy to approach the positions of the Defense Forces.
In the Kursk direction, 17 battles took place, two of which are still ongoing. The enemy carried out 48 airstrikes, dropped 76 guided air bombs (KABs), and conducted 379 artillery shellings.
The military department also reported that in the Kharkiv and Huliaipole directions, the Russian army did not carry out any offensive actions.
On April 14, the Khortytsia operational-strategic group reported that Russian forces once again attempted to advance in the Vovchansk area. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian forces destroyed an enemy armored group, and the clearing operation is ongoing.
Additionally, yesterday afternoon, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces informed that Russian forces were focusing their main efforts on the Pokrovsk, Lyman, and Kursk directions.
