Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of April 4

The Russian army is not abandoning its plans to occupy Ukrainian territory and continues to put pressure on the positions of our units, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the General Staff, Ukraine’s Defense Forces are taking measures to disrupt the enemy’s actions, inflicting losses on its personnel and equipment. Since the beginning of the day, there have been a total of 81 combat engagements.
As a result of cynical attacks from the territory of the Russian Federation, border settlements have been affected:
Semenivka, Seredyna-Buda, Khutir Mykhailivskyi, Kucherivka, Prokhody, Novovasylivka, Mariine, and Ulanove in Sumy region; Yasna Polyana and Khrynivka in Chernihiv region; and Tymofiivka in Kharkiv region.
Airstrikes were carried out on Krasnopillia, Prokhody, Stepok, Uhroidy, and Lisne in the Sumy region.
Situation on the frontlines
Kharkiv direction: The enemy attempted twice to advance in the areas of Vovchansk and toward Kamianka.
Kupiansk direction: The Defense Forces successfully repelled two enemy attempts to advance near Zahryzove.
Lyman direction: The enemy launched 28 attacks toward the settlements of Novomykhailivka, Katerynivka, Hrekivka, Olhivka, Novosergiivka, Nove, and near Nadiia. Fighting is currently ongoing at 14 locations.
Siversk direction: Since the beginning of the day, there have been two combat engagements near Bilohorivka and toward Verkhniokamianske. One battle is currently ongoing.
Toretsk direction: The enemy attacked in the areas of Krymske, Dachne, Toretsk, Leonidivka, and toward Dyliivka, attempting 13 assaults to improve its positions. Three battles are ongoing.
Pokrovsk direction: Since the start of the day, the Russian forces have made 13 attempts to dislodge our defenders from their positions near the settlements of Andriivka, Sukha Balka, and Yelyzavetivka. The Defense Forces are holding back the enemy’s pressure and have repelled ten attacks. The enemy also carried out airstrikes using guided bombs in the areas of Pokrovsk and Sukhyi Yar.
Novopavlivka direction: Enemy units attacked our positions five times near Kostiantynopil and Rozlyv, and launched airstrikes in the area of Bahatyr. Four attacks are still ongoing.
Huliaipole direction: Today, the enemy attacked once near Novosilka. At the same time, airstrikes were carried out on Novopil, Huliaipole, and Novodarivka.
Orikhiv direction: There have been four combat engagements. The enemy is attempting to advance near Mali Shcherbaky and Stepove. Two battles are still ongoing.
Kursk region: Ukrainian defenders repelled seven enemy attacks. The enemy also launched three airstrikes, dropping five guided bombs, and conducted 211 artillery shellings. Fighting continues at two locations.
Prydniprovskyi and Kramatorsk directions: The enemy did not conduct active offensive operations but continues to shell Defense Forces positions and populated areas, using strike drones and conducting reconnaissance
Russian losses in the war
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Russian Federation has lost over 920,000 personnel.
In the past day, from April 2 to April 3, Russian invaders lost 1,390 soldiers and one multiple launch rocket system on the frontlines.
