Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of February 5

Since the beginning of February 5, there have been 50 combat engagements on the front lines. Russian forces are actively attacking the positions of Ukrainian soldiers in the Pokrovsk direction and the Kursk region, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In the Kharkiv direction, Russian forces attempted to assault Ukrainian defensive lines twice near Kozacha Lopan. Ukrainian defenders repelled one attack, while another battle is still ongoing.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy launched seven active assaults on Ukrainian positions near Zahryzove, Petropavlivka, Pishchane, and Nova Kruhliakivka. Currently, two battles are ongoing.
In the Lyman direction, the Russian army carried out six attacks on Ukrainian positions near Novoliubivka, Kopanky, Zelenyi Hai, Kolodiazi, and Torske. Two battles are still in progress.
In the Siversk direction, the enemy attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders eight times near Siversk and Verkhniokamianske. Six attacks have been repelled, with two battles ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled two enemy attacks near Chasiv Yar and Stupochky. Another combat engagement is still ongoing. The enemy also carried out an airstrike on Stupochky using a guided bomb.
In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces attempted to push Ukrainian units from their positions near Toretsk and Shcherbynivka. Ukrainian forces repelled four assaults. Kleban-Byk and Katerynivka came under enemy airstrikes.
Since the start of the day in the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy has made 12 attempts to dislodge Ukrainian defenders from their positions near Vodiane Druhe, Yelyzavetivka, Promin, Pishchane, Dachne, and Ulakly. Defense forces are holding their ground, having repelled eight attacks so far. Enemy losses are being clarified. Fighting is ongoing.
In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukrainian troops repelled two enemy attacks near Kostiantynopil, with another engagement still underway. The enemy carried out airstrikes on Komar, Rozlyv, Burlatske, and Bahatyr.
In the Huliaipole direction, the enemy launched airstrikes on Huliaipole and Novopil.
In the Kursk region, Ukrainian defenders repelled one enemy attack, with four more battles still ongoing. Additionally, the enemy conducted 202 artillery strikes on Ukrainian military positions and civilian settlements.
In the Huliaipole, Orikhiv, and Prydniprovskyi directions, the enemy did not conduct active operations.
Russia's losses in the war
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has lost over 844,000 personnel.
In particular, over the past day alone, Russian forces suffered 1,140 personnel losses. Additionally, Ukrainian forces destroyed 9 tanks, 12 armored fighting vehicles, 52 artillery systems, 99 operational-tactical UAVs, 157 vehicles, 2 units of special equipment, and 1 heavy flamethrower system.
