During February 4-5, Russian troops lost 1,140 soldiers, 99 drones, and 157 vehicles on the frontline of the war with Ukraine, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to February 5, 2025, are estimated to be:

  • personnel - about 844,070 (+1,140) Russian troops were eliminated;
  • tanks - 9,947 (+9);
  • armored personnel vehicle - 20,721 (+12).
  • artillery systems - 22,707 (+52);
  • MLRS - 1,269;
  • anti-aircraft warfare systems - 1,053;
  • aircraft - 369;
  • helicopters - 331;
  • UAV operational-tactical level - 24,102 (+99);
  • cruise missiles - 3,054;
  • warships/boats - 28;
  • submarines - 1;
  • vehicles and fuel tanks - 36,078 (+157);
  • special equipment - 3,735 (+2).

Situation at front and Russian drone attack

According to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), the Russian army is putting pressure on the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the Kharkiv region. Russia may also take an operational pause in the Kursk region.

At night, Russian troops attacked Ukraine again with Shahed kamikaze drones.

An administrative building was damaged in Kharkiv as a result of Russian drone strikes, and a fire broke out at the site of the attacks.
