Since the beginning of the day on October 1, 74 combat engagements have taken place in the frontline. Russian forces continue to be active in the Pokrovsk, Kurakhove, Kupiansk and Lyman directions, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Russian shelling

According to the General Staff, the border areas of Sumy and Kharkiv regions continue to suffer from Russian air strikes. In particular, the Russian army attacked the areas of Bilopillia, Vyshenky, Studenok, Pavlivka, Stepne, Tokarivka and Ulanove with guided aerial bombs. 16 guided bombs have been dropped.

A number of settlements in Chernihiv and Sumy regions, including Seredyna-Buda, Boiaro-Lezhachi, Halahanivka, Demianivka and Bachevsk, suffered from the shelling of the Russian army today.

The enemy also carried out ten air strikes, using 12 guided bombs in the Kursk region.

Situation in the directions

In the Kharkiv direction, two enemy attacks took place in the areas of Vovchansk and Starytsia. Fighting continues. The situation is under control.

In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy has been trying to advance to Ukrainian positions in the vicinity of ten settlements throughout the day. Nine enemy attacks continue near Synkivka, Novoosynove, Kurelivka, Novoselivka, Kolesnykivka and Stelmakhivka. A total of 17 combat engagements were registered in the direction.

The Russian forces increased the number of attacks to ten in the Lyman direction. They attacked near Hrekivka, Nevske, Novosadove and in Serebryansky forest. Three combat engagements are currently ongoing.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to repel Russia's attacks near Chasiv Yar and Hryhorivka. An attack in the direction of Stupochky was repelled by Ukrainian troops.

In the Toretsk direction, seven attacks took place in the areas of Toretsk and Shcherbynivka, where the enemy is still conducting two assaults.

The enemy's activity continues in the Pokrovsk direction. Clashes of varying intensity started 14 times today. Fighting is still ongoing in two locations near Lysivka and Selidove. Russian aviation was firing at Chunyshyne with guided bombs throughout the day.

Fighting continues in the Kurakhove direction. Near Tsukuryno, Hirnyk, Heorhiivka, Kostiantynivka and Katerynivka, 17 combat engagements took place during the day, five enemy attacks are ongoing.

The Russian forces did not conduct any active offensives in the Vremivka direction. Instead, enemy aircraft carried out five attacks in the areas of Bohoyavlenka, Temyrivka, Novodarivka and Urozhaine.

In the Orikhiv direction, three unsuccessful combat engagements took place in the area of Mali Shcherbaky and Novodanylivka. The enemy struck Zaporizhzhia with guided aerial bombs.

“There were no significant changes in the situation in other directions. Ukrainian troops are controlling the situation and depleting the enemy along the entire frontline and in the rear,” the General Staff added.

Situation at the front and Russian losses

According to the General Staff, 189 combat engagements were recorded on the frontline on September 30. In a number of areas, the enemy used aircraft.

According to a report by the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW), the Russian forces are putting pressure on the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in two areas in Donetsk region.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Russia has lost more than 654,000 personnel.

Over the last day alone, the Defense Forces eliminated another 1,370 Russian soldiers. Also, 9 tanks, 44 armored combat vehicles, 33 artillery systems and other enemy equipment were destroyed yesterday.
