Situation in the Pokrovsk direction
For several months, the Pokrovsk direction has remained the most challenging part of the front.
Russian forces are positioned 11 kilometers from Pokrovsk, prompting a mandatory evacuation of civilians.
According to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, Russian troops are leveraging their superiority in manpower and military equipment, particularly artillery and aviation, in the Pokrovsk direction. Over 50 clashes occur daily, with the Russians losing up to 300 soldiers each day.
Recently, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that the Ukrainian Armed Forces would further reinforce the Pokrovsk direction.
Military expert Oleksiy Hetman noted that, unlike other areas of the front, the terrain near Pokrovsk favors Russian offensive actions.
However, Oleksandr Syrskyi reported today that Ukrainian forces have halted the Russian advance near Pokrovsk. Over the past six days, the enemy has not advanced by even a meter, he stated.
