Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of August 21

Since the beginning of August 21, there have been 110 combat encounters along the front line. The most intense situation remains in the Pokrovsk direction in the Donetsk region, according to the evening briefing from the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Enemy shelling
Throughout the day, Russian forces launched a missile strike on Ukrainian territory with two missiles, as well as 76 airstrikes, dropping 100 guided aerial bombs (KABs). They also carried out more than three thousand shelling attacks on our military positions and civilian areas.
Frontline situation
In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy launched five attacks on our defensive positions near Lyptsi and Vovchansk. Four attacks were repelled, and one is ongoing.
In the Kupiansk direction, there were 16 combat encounters near Petropavlivka, Synkivka, Stelmakhivka, Berestove, and around Andriivka. Twelve encounters have ended, while four are still ongoing.
In the Lyman direction, Russian forces launched 17 attacks on Ukrainian positions near Torske, Novoselivka, Makiivka, Hrekivka, and Serhiivka. Our defenders repelled 16 attacks, with one still ongoing.
In the Siversk direction, the Defense Forces repelled one enemy assault in the Spirne area.
In the Kramatorsk direction, six battles took place near Hryhorivka, Chasiv Yar, and Predtechyne, with one still ongoing.
In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces launched five attacks on Ukrainian troops near Toretsk and Pivnichne but were unsuccessful.
In the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day, there have been 46 battles near Panteleimonivka, Vozdvyzhenska, Zelenopillia, Myrolubivka, Hrodivka, Mykolaivka, Novohrodivka, Mykhailivka, and Ptyche. Defense forces repelled 44 attacks, with two still ongoing.
Preliminary information indicates that today, in this direction, 238 Russian soldiers were neutralized, either killed or wounded. Additionally, a combat armored vehicle, an anti-tank guided missile system, and a vehicle were destroyed. Moreover, a tank, five artillery systems, and another combat armored vehicle were damaged.
In the Kurakhove direction, the enemy attacked our positions 13 times, attempting to advance near Heorhiivka, Kostiantynivka, and Pobieda, but received a strong repulse.
In the Vremivka, Orikhiv, and Prydniprovskyi directions, no active actions by the Rissian army have been reported. However, the invaders continue to carry out airstrikes and persistently shell Ukrainian cities, villages, and our military positions.
It is noted that border guards inflicted significant losses on the enemy in the Serebriansky Forestry area in the Luhansk region.
Additionally, the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine attacked the Russian airfield Savasleyka with drones, destroying and damaging several fighter jets.
Last night, Russia launched over 70 aerial targets of various types towards Ukraine.
