Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of August 13

Over the past day, August 12, there were 134 combat engagements along the front line, with the enemy being most active in the Pokrovsk direction, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"Yesterday, the aviation, missile forces, and artillery of the Defense Forces carried out 11 strikes on areas where enemy personnel and military equipment were concentrated, as well as hit a command post and an artillery system," the General Staff writes.
Situation in the frontlines
In the Kharkiv direction, three battles took place, with the Defense Forces repelling enemy assaults near Vovchansk and Tykhe.
In the Kupiansk direction, there were 12 engagements, including near Berestove, Stelmakhivka, Hlushkivka, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Kruhliaivka, and Andriivka.
In the Lyman direction, according to updated information, the enemy launched 24 attacks near Makiivka, Nevske, Torske, and Terny.
In the Siversk direction, four combat engagements occurred. Ukrainian defenders repelled Russian assaults near Verkhnokamianske and Spirne.
In the Kramatorsk direction, seven battles took place in the areas of Chasiv Yar and Bohdanivka.
In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces attacked 10 times near Zalizne, Toretsk, and New York.
In the Pokrovsk direction, our defenders repelled 52 enemy assaults in the areas of Kalynove, Sukha Balka, Yelyzavetivka, Zelene Pole, Novooleksandrivka, Hrodivka, Mykolaivka, Zhelanne, Skuchne, Panteleimonivka, Tymofiivka, Novozhelanne, Ptyche, and Vozdvizhenka. The highest concentration of attacks occurred near Hrodivka and Zhelanne.
In the Kurakhove direction, the Defense Forces repelled eight enemy attacks near Paraskoviivka, Heorhiivka, Krasnohorivka, Kalynove, and Kostyantynivka.
In the Vremivka direction, the enemy launched six assaults towards Vodiane, Kostyantynivka, and Vuhledar.
In the Orikhiv direction, Russian forces attempted two assaults on Ukrainian positions near Novoandriivka.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the enemy was defeated after launching six attacks on Ukrainian defensive lines.
In the Huliaipole direction, the situation remains largely unchanged. In the Volyn and Polissya directions, no signs of enemy offensive group formations have been detected.
Russia's losses in the war
Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Russia has lost more than 593,000 personnel. Yesterday, the Defense Forces eliminated another 1,160 terrorists and destroyed:
- 5 tanks;
- 17 armored combat vehicles;
- 36 artillery systems.
