Russia has struck again at the Sudzha gas transportation system. Russian occupiers blamed Ukraine for the strikes, but they miscalculated in some ways, says Andrii Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation.

"Russia has again attacked the Sudzha gas transportation system (gas metering station) in the Kursk region," he wrote.

The Russian Defense Ministry has already stated that on March 28, at about 10:20 a.m., Ukrainian troops allegedly struck the Sudzha gas metering station with HIMARS, which allegedly "caused a strong fire and destroyed the energy facility."

Russian occupiers, however, did not take into account one point - as Kovalenko reminded, the Russians do not control the Sudzha gas transportation system.

Situation in Kursk region

The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue their operation in the Kursk region.

Over the past 24 hours, Russia has conducted:

  • 22 air strikes, dropping 25 guided aerial bombs;
  • fired 382 times, 26 of them from multiple launch rocket systems.

The Ukrainian military stopped 18 Russian assault actions.

Sudzha gas transmission system location

The Sudzha gas metering station is located 600 meters from the Ukrainian border, near the checkpoint of the same name. After the Kursk region, the pipeline enters the Sumy region and stretches to Uzhhorod.

Previous Russian attack on Sudzha gas transportation system

Explosions occurred at the Sudzha gas metering station in the Kursk region on the night of March 21. After that, a massive fire broke out at the facility.

Immediately after the accident, natural gas prices in Europe rose. The Sudzha gas transportation system was part of an inactive pipeline that, until recently supplied fuel to Europe.

Russian troops attempted to use a branch of the Sudzha gas pipeline to approach the settlement before capturing it. They were detected by Ukrainian paratroopers and destroyed.

So-called energy truce

Russia and Ukraine declared their readiness to stop attacking energy facilities starting on March 18. However, despite Putin's statements, Russia continues to terrorize Ukrainian cities with Shahed drones every night.

Despite the agreements, Russia continues to attack Ukraine's energy sector. At least 2 strikes were recorded over the past day.
