Russia strikes Ukraine's Odesa region with drones and missiles: Fires erupt, casualties reported

On the night of May 15, the Russian army launched a combined missile and drone strike on the Odesa region, resulting in injuries and damage to residential areas, according to Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

According to Kiper, Russians targeted civilian infrastructure, including residential areas and businesses. Two people were injured.
As a result of the Russian attack, private residential buildings were damaged, as well as technical structures, a non-residential building, utility and administrative buildings, and passenger cars.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine specified that several fires broke out due to the Russian strikes.
In the residential sector, 4 houses and a non-residential building were damaged. Some homes were destroyed, with windows shattered and structural damage sustained. 3 passenger cars were also damaged.
Critical infrastructure was also hit. Fires broke out, which rescuers quickly extinguished.
Currently, all relevant emergency and utility services are working at the sites of the incidents.

Attacks on Odesa and region
The previous evening, following a Russian attack on an energy facility, some residents of the Odesa region were left without power.
Before that, Russia struck the port of Odesa with drones and damaged a foreign civilian vessel.
Russian Shahed drones launched a massive strike on the southern part of the Odesa region. As a result of the Russian attack, civilian and port infrastructure were damaged.
