On the night of August 16–17, Russian troops once again attacked port infrastructure in the Odesa region. As a result of the strike, a civilian vessel flying the flag of the Republic of Togo was damaged, according to Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration.

Russian attack on Ukraine's port infrastructure

On the night of August 17, Russian forces launched another strike on port infrastructure in the Odesa region. As a result of the attack, a civilian vessel flying the flag of the Republic of Togo was damaged.

Four people were injured. Three of them were hospitalized; one is in critical condition. All of the injured are receiving the necessary medical care.

Fires following Russian strike

Fires broke out near the port infrastructure following the Russian attack. Emergency responders quickly extinguished all the fires. Information regarding the consequences of the strike is being clarified.

Russian attacks on Odesa: Latest

On Sunday, August 16, a Russian jet-powered drone struck a post office located in a shopping center in a suburb of Odesa. A 42-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man were injured in the attack. Both sustained shrapnel wounds and were hospitalized; they are receiving the necessary medical care. There was also a direct hit on the Epicenter store.

Also on August 16, in the Odesa region, Russian troops once again struck civilian infrastructure using a rocket-powered drone. According to preliminary reports, the Russian drone struck a residential area, destroying two private homes and injuring three more people.

On the night of August 16, an air raid alert was declared in Kyiv due to the threat of Russian ballistic missile attacks. As a result of the Russian attack in the Obolonskyi district, a non-residential building caught fire; one casualty was also reported.
