Russian forces have again attacked civilian infrastructure in the Odesa region of Ukraine. The strike by a jet-powered drone destroyed homes and injured three people, according to the Odesa Regional Military Administration.

Aftermath of repeated strike

Preliminary reports say a Russian jet-powered drone struck a residential area. The explosion completely destroyed two private homes.

Three civilians are currently known to have been injured.

All emergency and specialized services are continuing to work at the scene, while information about the damage and the condition of the injured people is being clarified.

Later, the regional military administration reported that the number of people injured in Russia's attack has risen to five.

Four of the injured were hospitalized, with doctors describing one person's condition as serious. Another injured person received medical treatment at the scene.

Emergency crews remain at the site, working to deal with the aftermath of the strike and provide all necessary assistance to residents.

Russian attacks on August 16

As previously reported, during the day on August 16, a Russian jet-powered drone targeted a suburb of Odesa. The UAV struck a post office located inside a shopping center.

In addition, the Russian army launched a ballistic strike on Kyiv overnight on August 16. The attack sparked a fire at a non-residential building in the capital's Obolonskyi district, and one person was injured.

The book market in Pochaina, Kyiv, was also damaged in the missile attack. Part of the market stalls was completely destroyed by fire following the strike.
