Russia strikes Ukraine's Konotop with drones: One killed, many injured

On Wednesday, May 20, Russian forces launched a drone strike on Konotop. A 94-year-old local woman was killed in the attack, and 11 others were injured, according to the Sumy Regional Police.
Rescuers found the body of the deceased under the rubble of a five-story building—the Russian drone struck its entrance.
In addition, 11 civilians were injured. Among the victims are nine women and two men aged 50 to 88.
Immediately after the shelling, law enforcement officers arrived at the scene to help residents escape from the damaged buildings, evacuate people, provide first aid, and secure the area. The first minutes following the Russian strike were captured on body camera footage.

"Police investigative and operational teams, bomb disposal experts, and other specialized services are working at the impact sites. Police are documenting the consequences of the shelling and collecting evidence of a war crime committed by Russia. A criminal case has been opened regarding the attack under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine," the police state.
On the night of May 20, Russia launched massive strikes on several Ukrainian cities.
Dnipro was hit hardest, five people were wounded, two are in critical condition, and food warehouses were damaged. Simultaneously, Russian attacks were recorded in Kharkiv and Odesa.
The Ukrainian Air Force reported that during the night, Russia attacked Ukraine with an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 154 strike drones. Ukrainian air defense forces shot down 131 Russian drones.
On the night of May 19, the Russians struck the Kholodnohirskyi and Novobavarskyi districts of Kharkiv, and over 10 residential buildings were damaged. In addition, the Russians fired ballistic missiles at the center of Pryluky, a factory was hit, and a shopping center and supermarket nearby were damaged.
