Russia strikes Ukraine's Kharkiv with drones, child among injured

On the evening of April 2, Russian drones struck Kharkiv, hitting three districts of the city, according to Kharkiv regional governor Oleh Syniehubov and Mayor Ihor Terekhov.
Which districts were hit
Mayor Ihor Terekhov said enemy drones struck three districts of Kharkiv — Novobavarskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, and Kyivskyi. Fires broke out at some of the impact sites.
Initially, Terekhov said there were no reports of casualties, but later clarified that two people were injured in the Novobavarskyi district.
Casualties seek medical help
According to regional governor Oleh Syniehubov, the following people were injured in the drone attack:
- An 8-year-old girl
- A 53-year-old man
- A 74-year-old woman
Doctors diagnosed them with acute stress reactions. Medical assistance is currently being provided.
Kharkiv and the surrounding region have been under constant Russian attacks since the start of the full-scale invasion. Due to its proximity to the Russian border, the city is almost daily targeted by drones, missiles, and guided aerial bombs.
On the evening of April 1, Russian forces struck the Shevchenkivskyi district with a Molniya combat drone. The UAV hit a multi-story residential building, with the blast wave shattering windows.
On the night of March 27, another apartment building was attacked. According to emergency services, eight people were injured.
On the morning of March 26, a Shahed drone fell near a restaurant, injuring one person.
On March 25, drones struck two districts — Kholodnohirskyi and Novobavarskyi — damaging homes and vehicles, with residents among the injured.
