Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov said that on April 2, Russian forces struck the city with jet-powered drones for the first time, according to Terekhov’s statement on Telegram.
"Since the beginning of the day, the enemy has attacked Kharkiv 11 times, with all strikes occurring in the Kyivskyi district. Most of the enemy UAVs were jet-powered, and the enemy used them against Kharkiv for the first time," his statement said.
Terekhov noted that there could have been more strikes, but some of the enemy drones were shot down thanks to the work of Ukrainian defenders.
He also warned that additional Russian drones are currently being detected in the suburbs and may be heading toward Kharkiv. In light of this, he urged local residents not to ignore air raid warnings.
