Russia strikes Ternopil high-rise with drones: One dead, fire reported
Russian forces attacked Ternopil with drones during the night of December 2. As a result of the strike, a fire broke out in a residential building, and one person died, according to Ternopil Mayor Serhii Nadal and the head of the Ternopil Regional Military Administration, Viacheslav Negoda.
"The enemy once again attacked Ternopil with drones. A fire has broken out in a residential building. Emergency services are working at the scene. Further details will follow," he wrote at 2:03 AM (Kyiv time).
Around the same time, the head of the regional military administration clarified that the building was hit. One person was killed in the attack, and others were injured.
The mayor of Ternopil clarified that an enemy drone struck the top floor of a high-rise building in one of the city's neighborhoods.
"There are casualties and injuries. Rescue teams are extinguishing the fire," he added.

According to updated information from Serhii Nadal, the drone strike on a multi-story building caused a fire that engulfed apartments on the top fifth floor and partially affected the third and fourth floors.
The mayor reiterated that there were casualties but did not specify the exact number. Earlier reports online suggested two fatalities.
"As of now, rescue and emergency services are still working at the scene. There are fatalities and severely injured individuals. Doctors are doing everything possible to save the wounded. We are preparing a temporary shelter for Ternopil residents whose apartments were damaged. Further details will follow," the statement read.

Ukraine's State Emergency Service (SES) has summarized the results of the Russian drone attack on the city of Ternopil. The drone strike caused a large fire in a multi-story residential building. As a result of the attack, one person was killed, three were injured, and about 100 residents were evacuated.
Additionally, the shockwave from the explosion damaged windows in nearby buildings, schools, and 20 cars.
Psychologists continue to work at the scene. A mobile point of resilience has also been set up for those affected.
“Psychologists are working at the site, and a mobile point of resilience has been set up for those affected. The SES urges citizens not to ignore air raid signals,” the service concluded.
