Russian shelling of Ukraine on July 23
On the night of July 23, Russian invaders attacked Ukraine with a Kh-69 missile and Shaheds. Ukrainian air defense managed to shoot down seven drones and a missile. However, there was a hit on critical infrastructure in the Sumy region. No casualties were reported.
Since the beginning of this year, Russia has intensified its attacks on Ukraine. As a result of eight massive attacks carried out by the Russians against energy facilities, Ukraine lost 9 GW of the production capacity of Ukrainian power plants.
Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba appealed to allies and outlined five priority steps to urgently support Ukraine's energy sector. These include, in particular, strengthening air defense.
