US President Donald Trump stated that the United States has made "tremendous progress" in negotiations with Moscow and Kyiv over the past week, and a peace deal may soon be reached, according to the New York Post.
"I think it’s going to happen," Trump said regarding a potential peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia.
Trump confirms US Treasury Secretary's visit to Ukraine
US President Donald Trump confirmed the upcoming visit of Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to Ukraine in the near future, according to Trump's post on X.
According to Trump, during his visit to Ukraine, Bessent will meet with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"This war must and will end soon - too much death and destruction. The US has spent billions of dollars globally, with little to show. When America is strong, the world is at peace," Trump wrote.
North Korea sends 200 long-range artillery pieces to Russia - Seoul
North Korea has sent about 200 units of long-range artillery to Russia and is likely to send more troops and weapons to support Moscow's war against Ukraine, the South Korean news agency Yonhap News reports.
The Ministry also mentioned that North Korea is expected to double its efforts in weapons development this year, marking the final year of its five-year plan for developing sophisticated weapons, such as nuclear-powered submarines, spy satellites, and solid-fuel intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs).
Ukraine may offer Russia land swap involving Kursk region – Zelenskyy
Ukraine may propose a territorial exchange with Russia, involving part of Russia’s Kursk region in return for Ukrainian land currently under occupation, stated President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview with The Guardian.
He said that if negotiations with Russia begin, he plans to propose a direct land swap to Moscow. Kyiv would offer part of the Kursk region in exchange for Ukrainian territory.
