Russia’s massive combined attack on Ukraine demonstrates Moscow’s hypocrisy and weakness, stated French President Emmanuel Macron.

He stressed that by carrying out the largest drone and missile attack on Ukrainian cities and civilians in the past four years, Russia was "further deepening the severity of its aggression."

"It demonstrates all the hypocrisy with which it conducted negotiations over the fragile ceasefire in recent days," Macron said.

The French leader noted that by targeting civilians, Russia is demonstrating its weakness. He added that Moscow does not know how to end this war.

"France stands with Ukraine and the Ukrainian people and will continue efforts to stop the fighting and achieve a just and lasting peace in Ukraine that guarantees its security and the security of Europe," Macron said.

Massive attack on Ukraine

On the night of May 14, Russia launched a massive combined attack on Ukraine using kamikaze drones and various types of missiles.

Overnight, Russian forces fired 56 missiles and 675 drones at Ukraine. Damage was reported in Kyiv and the surrounding Kyiv region, as well as in several other regions of the country.

In total, on May 13 and 14, the Russian army used 1,567 drones and 56 missiles. The interception rate reached 94% for drones and 73% for missiles.

As of now, seven people have been confirmed killed in the capital, while 39 others were injured. At least 20 people are still considered missing.

Air Force spokesman Yurii Ihnat said the attack was one of the largest during the full-scale war. According to him, Russia used almost all of its arsenal of aerial attack weapons.

Notably, Russia’s Defense Ministry came up with a cynical justification for the combined attack on Ukraine, claiming it had carried out a "retaliation strike."

More details on the consequences of the overnight massive attack on Ukraine are available in RBC-Ukraine’s report.
