Russia's losses in Ukraine as of September 1: 470 troops and 23 tanks eliminated
The Ukrainian defense forces continue to inflict significant losses on the Russian occupiers in terms of personnel and equipment. Within a day, the Ukrainian Armed Forces eliminated 470 more aggressors and destroyed 23 enemy tanks, 23 artillery systems, and 9 armored vehicles, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to September 1, 2023, are estimated as follows:
- Personnel: Approximately 263,490 (+470) troops eliminated,

- Artillery systems: 5,530 (+23),
- MLRS: 735 (+1),
- Anti-aircraft warfare systems: 500,

- Cruise missiles: 1,445,
- Ships/boats: 18,

Frontline situation as of the morning of September 1
As informed by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, over the past day, there have been more than 25 combat clashes on the fronts. Ukrainian soldiers continue their offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, consolidate their achieved positions, and carry out counter-battery measures.
During the day, the Defense Forces' aviation delivered 14 strikes on personnel concentration areas and 4 strikes on enemy SAM (surface-to-air missile) systems. Additionally, units of the missile forces and artillery of the Ukrainian Armed Forces inflicted damage on 1 artillery unit in a firing position and 2 enemy radar stations.
