Latest on situation at front
Regarding the situation with clashes with the Russian troops, most of the fighting is currently taking place in the Pokrovsk, Oleksandrivka, and Kostiantynivka directions, according to the latest evening report from Ukraine's General Staff.
Russia recently announced the encirclement of Pokrovsk, with the Kremlin even talking about plans to bring journalists there. However, the Armed Forces of Ukraine refute this information: although small groups of Russians managed to infiltrate the city, an operation is currently underway there involving not only the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but also the Special Operations Forces and the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine (HUR).
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi denied Russia's claims not only about the blockade of Pokrovsk, but also of Kupiansk, which the Kremlin planned to capture during the autumn and winter period.
A few days ago, Ukrainian reconnaissance troops landed in Pokrovsk. The Institute for the Study of War reported yesterday that the HUR troops had indeed thwarted Russia's plans in the city.
