A high-level coordination meeting was held to discuss all types of sanctions against Russia over its war against Ukraine, according to a statement by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Ukraine prepares new sanctions against Russia
Zelenskyy noted that the key objective is to prevent Russia from adapting to the restrictions.
"We see that every Russian missile, every drone, and most other types of Russian weapons contain critical components from other countries, without which such weapons simply would not exist," the president said.
The meeting also discussed Russia's use of machine tools and technologies that Moscow would not have been able to develop on its own.
"More pressure is needed to limit the aggressor state's ties with the outside world," Zelenskyy said.
The president also instructed officials to prepare a clear plan for a special sanctions operation. It is intended to significantly restrict Russia's military industry by targeting specific companies in specific sectors.
"Each participant in the meeting received clear tasks. I expect them to be fully carried out. Glory to Ukraine!" he concluded.
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that another 23 companies from Russia's military-industrial complex had been placed under Ukrainian sanctions.
Zelenskyy also noted that only a small number of countries in the world have managed to develop their own ballistic missiles and anti-ballistic defense systems. According to him, Ukraine is capable of achieving this in the near future.
