Frontline situation

On Sunday, March 8, Ukraine's Defense Forces struck several Russian military targets, including a Pantsir-S1 air defense system and a BK-16 landing boat near Novoozerne in occupied Crimea. They also targeted multiple drone control centers and command posts in Crimea, Russia's Belgorod region, and occupied parts of Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions. The full extent of the damage is still being assessed.

Later, Ukrainian troops destroyed a North Korean Koksan self-propelled artillery system used by Russian forces, the 413th Unmanned Systems Regiment (Raid) reported. The system, equipped with a 170 mm gun, is one of the longest-range artillery weapons available to Russia, with a range of up to 60 km. Ukrainian forces say Russia is deploying such rare North Korean systems to compensate for losses and worn-out barrels on its 2S7 Pion artillery.
