In the northern part of Kharkiv region, Russian forces are currently on a "cautious pause," according to Viktor Trehubov, head of the Communications Department of the Joint Forces Group, during a live telemarathon broadcast.
"Specifically in northern Kharkiv, they are for now on a cautious pause. If we take northern Kharkiv, there are some Russian attempts to move in near Sotnytske, Kozachok, and so on. That’s where they’re still stirring," Trehubov said.
Asked about the overall operational situation in Kharkiv, he noted that on most combat fronts on Saturday, there were no clashes at all.
Regarding the Russian operational pause, Trehubov explained that the enemy is currently experiencing a significant lull, which they are using, among other things, to restore their offensive potential.
"The fact that the Russians are currently unable to conduct any effective offensive actions—or even attempt effective infiltration—indicates that either they are taking a regrouping pause, or they’re pausing because they have suffered some losses and are now trying to recover," the spokesperson said.
At the same time, he noted that the accumulation of personnel and equipment is being observed in Velykoburlutske and on both Slobozhansky directions.
Trehubov also emphasized that the situation in Lyptsi hardly affects the overall situation in the sector.
"The intensity there is currently low; they try to renew it from time to time," he added.
Frontline situation
Recently, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi summarized the operations of the Defense Forces, noting that Ukrainian troops recaptured more territory than Russia was able to seize during the same period.
In particular, units of the Air Assault Forces continue active operations not only in the east but also carry out counteroffensive measures in southern Ukraine.
According to experts, on certain sections of the front, Ukraine has achieved its fastest battlefield gains since the start of the year.
It was also reported that during successful operations, the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated over 300 square kilometers of territory, improving tactical positions on several directions.
