How the Russians struck

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, at 9:26 PM Kyiv time, several groups of attack drones approached Kharkiv from the north and west.

Minutes later, the first explosion was heard in the city, followed by another, and then a series of successive blasts.

According to Suspilne Kharkiv, a total of 17 explosions were reported. However, the mayor told local media that preliminary assessments indicate at least 12 strikes across five locations in the city.

"Preliminary information, which requires confirmation, indicates one person was killed in the Shevchenkivskyi district due to a Shahed drone hitting a private house. There are also injured residents from this strike," Terekhov wrote at 9:57 PM Kyiv time.

Authorities later confirmed that, preliminarily, three people were killed and eight were injured. Among the injured is a 12-year-old child.

Meanwhile, Kharkiv regional police reported strikes in Shevchenkivskyi, Kholodnohirskyi, and Saltivskyi districts.
