Russia plans to recruit another 409,000 troops in 2026. Enemy activity on the front is increasing, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi reports.
"In 2026, Russia plans to recruit another 409,000 troops. This means one thing — the enemy is not abandoning its intentions and continues to prepare for further aggression against Ukraine," Syrskyi said.
According to him, with improving weather conditions, enemy activity on the front is increasing.
"I held an operational meeting on the state of engineering equipment of defensive lines. Among the key tasks are strengthening fortifications, developing anti-drone protection, and preparing settlements for defense," the commander-in-chief said.
Syrskyi also listened to reports from military commanders, the leadership of the State Special Transport Service, and heads of regional military administrations.
"There are problematic issues — we have identified specific solutions and deadlines for their implementation. Not only the stability of defense but also the lives of our soldiers depend on the quality and speed of this work," the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine added.
Mobilization in Russia
Recently, Bloomberg wrote that the growing losses of the Russian army could disrupt Kremlin plans for a large-scale offensive against Ukraine in the coming months.
Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Pavlo Palisa, stated that Russia will be forced to return to mobilization if it fails to achieve progress in the political sphere or in peace negotiations.
Analysts of the Institute for the Study of War noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin is creating informational conditions for the resumption of limited, phased conscription of reservists. In this way, Russia is trying to compensate for losses in the war against Ukraine.
China urged its citizens living in Russia to be cautious due to a new conscription law. The reason is that the document obliges foreigners to serve in the Russian army.
