Russia photographed Ukraine's nuclear facilities, may be preparing strikes on - Zelenskyy
Russia is using Chinese satellites to photograph Ukrainian nuclear power plants, raising concerns that this could be part of preparations for potential strikes against them, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"The recent information is that Russia has been using Chinese satellites and taking photos of the details of the objects on nuclear facilities. And in our experience, if Russia takes photos of certain objects, then there is a threat of strikes against the nuclear objects," Zelenskyy said.
Zelenskyy did not specify whether the Chinese satellites being used by Russia were commercial or under the control of the Chinese government.
He said that Ukraine will share its intelligence with world leaders at the UN General Assembly this week.
Russian drones flying over Ukrainian nuclear plants
In the past month, more than one hundred Russian drones and missiles have repeatedly approached Ukrainian nuclear power plants, posing a deadly risk not only to Ukraine but to all of Europe.
Russia is deliberately creating an unprecedented threat of nuclear catastrophe. Of particular concern is a recent incident involving a Russian drone that flew dangerously close to the Khmelnytskyi nuclear power plant.
Additionally, since October 2022, Ukraine's energy system has endured over a thousand enemy strikes. This has led to significant damage to energy facilities and has severely complicated the operation of the entire energy grid.
