Russia at the Council of Heads of Security and Intelligence Services of the CIS raised the issue of international terrorism. The director of Russian Federal Security Service (FSB), Alexander Bortnikov, stated that Ukraine aims to drag Belarus into the war, according to the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council, Andriy Kovalenko.

Kovalenko recalled that last weekend, the 55th meeting of the Council of Heads of Security and Intelligence Services of the CIS was held in Astana. Delegations from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan attended. During the meeting, representatives of these countries discussed international terrorism, illegal migration, cybercrime, and drug trafficking.

Specifically, during the meeting, FSB Director Alexander Bortnikov claimed that NATO is allegedly "pushing Ukraine" toward a terrorist war and wants to drag Belarus, Moldova, the Baltic states, and Poland into the conflict.

In Kovalenko’s opinion, Bortnikov’s statement may indicate that Russia is preparing a possible provocation at the Mazyr Oil Refinery.

"I previously mentioned that one of the Russian Shaheds recently struck near Mazyr. Belarus tried to conceal this, but the strike was revealed thanks to a camera on a house that recorded it, and the owner posted it online (she was later detained)," Kovalenko wrote.

He also noted that Russia once again used an international platform to discredit Ukraine and the West.

Background

Russian Shaheds have repeatedly flown into Belarusian territory. Notably, on the night of October 3, Russian drones may have entered Belarusian airspace while a helicopter carrying Lukashenko was in the air.

It later became known that a Shahed exploded in the Belarusian village of Kalinkavichy, leaving the settlement without power.
