A Russian Shahed drone exploded in Kalinkavichy, Belarus, causing a power outage in the town, citing the monitoring group Belaruski Hajun and Belsat.

On October 3, around 5:00 AM, residents of Kalinkavichy heard a loud explosion. The information was later confirmed by several sources, revealing that the explosion was heard around 4:55 AM.

"12 minutes earlier, there were reports of a Shahed entering Belarusian airspace and moving toward Mazyr, passing east of Naroulia," wrote Hajun.

The monitoring group clarified that the distance between Naroulia and Kalinkavichy is 40 km, which the Shahed could cover in just 11 minutes (with an average speed of 200 km/h).

"The trajectory and speed of the Shahed suggest that at the time of the explosion, the drone was already over the town. At the same time, according to our data, no Belarusian Air Force activity was recorded over the Homiel region during this period," Hajun added.

According to Belsat, after the explosion in Kalinkavichy, the power went out. Whether the drone detonated on its own or was shot down by air defense forces remains unknown.

Russian drones in Belarus

Russian kamikaze drones began entering Belarusian airspace in mid-July, with the first incident recorded on July 12.

According to earlier calculations by the monitoring group Hajun, at least nine Shahed drones entered Belarus in July.

Belarusian military forces not only scrambled their aircraft without engaging the drones but also, by the end of August, used aviation for the first time against a Russian UAV in Belarus.
