Russia may attack NATO within next 5 years - Zelenskyy

The Russian army may attack a NATO member country within the next five years to test the alliance's strength, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says in an interview with Sky News.
"We believe that, starting from 2030, Putin can have significantly greater capabilities. Today, Ukraine is holding him up; he has no time to drill the army," the Ukrainian President says.
According to him, Putin needs a pause to attack NATO; he needs the sanctions to be lifted and a trained army.
The Ukrainian President also stresses that NATO member states' plans to increase defense spending to 5% of GDP by 2035 are too slow.
"And 10 years is a very long time. He will have a new army ready [by then]," Zelenskyy adds.
But when the Ukrainian President was asked if Russia could attack NATO within a few months, Zelenskyy said he did not believe Putin was ready for that.
Europe is preparing for possible war with Russia
After Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Europe began to fear Russian aggression and actively prepare for it. In particular, they began to rearm their armies and develop plans to repel a possible attack.
Recently, it became known that the German army had developed a strategic document in which it identified Russia as an existential threat to Germany and Europe as a whole.
Before this, the German Bundeswehr warned that Russia was preparing for war with NATO and could be ready for it by the end of this decade, according to an army report received by the German media.
