Russia massively strikes Ukraine's Odesa: Residential buildings and dormitory damaged

On the night of March 19, Russian forces launched a massive drone attack on Odesa, damaging over a dozen buildings and a university dormitory, and three people were injured, according to Serhii Lysak, head of the Odesa City Military Administration, and Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration.

According to him, three districts were affected by the Russian attack: Prymorskyi, Kyivskyi, and Khadzhybeyskyi. In each of them, buildings were damaged, and other consequences were observed.
Prymorskyi district
In this district, damage to 12 residential buildings has been recorded. Two injured people were taken to the hospital. Currently, utility services are clearing the surrounding areas and boarding up window openings.
"An emergency response headquarters is operating on site, where residents have already received over 20 consultations regarding next steps and applying for assistance," Lysak adds.
Kyivskyi district
22-story residential building and a university dormitory were damaged here due to the Russian attack. A total of 180 windows were shattered.
"A command center was deployed on-site at 1:10 a.m. Kyiv time. Over 40 utility workers and specialized equipment have been mobilized to address the damage. Work is ongoing to seal the windows with plastic sheeting and OSB panels. One injured person was treated on-site," the statement reads.
Khadzhybeyskyi district
According to Lysak, partial destruction of a two-story building has been reported in this district.
"Municipal workers have already cleaned up the area around the building and boarded up the damaged windows. The process of compiling inspection reports based on residents' reports is ongoing," he clarifies.
Consequences of Russian attack on Odesa
Oleh Kiper, head of the Regional Military Administration, also comments on Russia's nighttime attack. He confirmed the fires, destruction, and reports of three casualties, provided details about one of the strikes, and mentioned the attack on a municipal utility company and the damaged vehicles.
"One of the Shaheds struck a high-rise building—several apartments, the facade, and the building’s windows were partially destroyed. The territory of a municipal utility company was also hit, damaging some equipment and 11 vehicles," Kiper writes.
He adds that all fires have now been extinguished, and emergency and municipal services are working at the sites to address the aftermath.

Russian strikes on Odesa region
The Russians attack Odesa and the region almost daily. For the most part, Russia carries out attacks with drones, but sometimes it can strike with missiles.
The latest Russian attack on the region occurred just last night. According to local authorities, the Russian attack damaged a critical infrastructure facility and some equipment. In addition, a fire broke out.
On the night of February 21, a Russian drone attack damaged urban infrastructure and several residential buildings. One of the damaged facilities was an educational institution.
