On the morning of June 10, the bridge connecting Henichesk to the Arabat Spit was closed in the occupied part of the Kherson region. This is the second major crossing that the Russians have shut down in recent days, following the Chongar Bridge, according to Vladimir Saldo, the Russian-appointed illegitimate head of the occupied part of the Kherson region.

According to Saldo, on the morning of June 10, Ukrainian forces allegedly attempted to strike one of the bridges connecting Henichesk with the Arabat Spit.

"Specialized services are working at the site. Traffic has been temporarily blocked, and the circumstances are being clarified," he states.

Closure followed strikes on Chonhar

The incident occurred amid recent attacks on the Chonhar Bridge, which is one of the key routes between the occupied part of the Kherson region and Crimea.

The first strike on the bridge was carried out on June 7. After that, traffic was restored in a two-way mode.

However, as early as June 9, according to reports, the bridge was again attacked by drones, after which traffic was halted once more.

Following this, Russian occupation authorities recommended using alternative routes via Armiansk and Perekop.

Consequences

Petro Andriushchenko, head of the Center for the Study of the Occupation, reported that the strike may have targeted one of the three bridges in the area of Henichesk and the Arabat Spit.

According to him, the closure of this route, combined with problems on the Chonhar Bridge, significantly complicates logistics for Russian troops.

"Now the main detour is possible only through Armiansk and Perekopsk. This means extra kilometers, extra time on the road, and extra fuel costs," Andriushchenko notes.

He adds that given the problems with fuel supplies, this could complicate the supply of Russian forces along the entire route.

Following Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian oil refineries and fuel depots in the occupied territories, the Russians have faced fuel supply issues.

Against this backdrop, restrictions were imposed in occupied Crimea on the sale of not only gasoline but also other types of fuel.

Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine's drones took aerial control of the land route to Crimea.

In addition, the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine's unmanned systems units have established fire control over sections of the highway between the temporarily occupied cities of Berdyansk, Melitopol, and Dzhankoy, systematically destroying Russian fuel tankers and trucks deep in the rear.
