Russia launches overnight drone attack on Ukraine from multiple directions: How air defense responded

Overnight on December 12, Russia again attacked with 80 strike drones. Ukrainian air defense forces shot down 64 enemy UAVs, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.
According to the military, from 18:00 on December 11 until the morning of December 12, the Russians attacked with 80 strike drones of the Shahed and Gerbera types, as well as UAVs of other kinds, from the directions of Bryansk, Oryol, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Millerovo (Russia), and Chauda and Hvardiiske (temporarily occupied Crimea). About 50 of them were Shaheds.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 09:00, air defense shot down or suppressed 64 enemy Shahed, Gerbera, and other UAVs in the north, south, and east of the country.
Twelve strike drones hit eight locations, and debris from downed drones fell in three places.
"The attack continues, with several enemy UAVs remaining in the airspace. Follow safety rules!" the Air Force warned.
Attacks on Ukraine
On the night of October 12, Russian forces attacked Odesa and the Odesa region with drones. Energy facilities were hit, buildings were damaged, and fires broke out.
Russian forces also attacked Pavlohrad in the Dnipropetrovsk region. As a result, five residential buildings caught fire, and one person was killed.
During the night of December 11, Russia attacked Ukraine with strike drones and ballistic missiles. Most of the enemy's attack means were destroyed by Ukrainian air defense.
In particular, Russian forces targeted energy facilities in the Kremenchuk district of the Poltava region. Direct hits were recorded, and fires broke out as a result of the attack.
