Russian forces have launched a massive FPV drone attack on Dobropillia in the Donetsk region for the first time. The drones targeted the city center directly, causing destruction and injuring at least one person, Donbas Realii reports.

According to reports, one of the drones hit the roof of a store, and up to ten cars caught fire. A witness said that one injured person was carried out of the store in front of him.

The exact number of drones involved in the attack remains unknown, but residents say they heard them coming from different directions.

Videos posted on Telegram channels show FPV drones flying over a crowded street and exploding near a café.

Ukraine under attack on July 9

On the night of July 9, Russia launched a massive assault on Ukraine, using Shahed kamikaze drones, cruise missiles, and Kinzhal hypersonic missiles. The primary target of the attack was the city of Lutsk, where fires broke out and damage was reported.

According to the Air Force, Russia launched a total of 728 drones and 13 missiles — a new record for the number of aerial weapons used in a single strike. Most of the Shahed drones were shot down by Ukrainian air defenses.

The strikes also hit other western regions, including the Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Lviv regions.

In Lutsk, fires broke out at warehouses and in a garage cooperative. Firefighters extinguished the blazes, and no casualties were reported. Ivan Rudnytskyi, head of the Volyn Regional Military Administration, confirmed that there were around 50 drones and 5 missiles over the region. In the Khmelnytskyi district, one person was killed by falling Shahed debris.

In the Zhytomyr region, industrial facilities and residential buildings were damaged, and two fires were brought under control. In the Ivano-Frankivsk region, air defense forces helped prevent casualties and major destruction.

In the Kyiv region, two people — a man and a woman — were injured and hospitalized. In Brovary, a fire broke out at an industrial facility and was later extinguished.
