Russia launched two missiles and 216 attack drones at Ukraine overnight on June 5. Ukrainian air defenses managed to shoot down most of the hostile drones, but some targets were hit, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
Last night, Russia attacked with two Kh-59/69 guided air-launched missiles from the temporarily occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region and 216 attack drones, including Shahed drones (including jet-powered variants), Gerbera, Italmas, Banderol loitering munitions, and Parodiya decoy drones, launched from Oryol, Kursk, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, and Chauda in the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine's Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 7:30 a.m., air defenses had shot down or suppressed 198 enemy drones of the Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and other types in the north, south, and east of the country.
Hits by 16 attack drones were recorded at 13 locations, while debris from intercepted targets fell at 12 locations. The guided air-launched missiles did not reach their targets.
"The attack is ongoing, and several enemy UAVs remain in the airspace. Please follow safety guidelines," the Air Force warned.
