Russia is parody of Soviet Union and may share its fate, says Zelenskyy's chief of staff

Russia may share the fate of the Soviet Union and collapse, as not all nations joined it voluntarily, said Andriy Yermak, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.
In his opinion, Russians themselves understand that despite the size of their country, Ukrainian soldiers can reach anywhere.
"The war has already moved onto their territory. Any empire, any dictatorship is built on violence, and some submit to it for various interests. But there are also many — even the majority — who are afraid," he noted.
Yermak emphasized that fear weakens when an empire begins to shake and crack at the seams. As a result, he added, "completely unexpected scenarios appear," and it will not be long before that happens.
"Formally, Russia is supposedly a voluntary union of peoples. But how is it in reality? Not everyone joined it voluntarily. And not everyone is comfortable there. Russia is a parody of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR). And I wouldn't rule out that it might share the same fate," said the head of the Office of the President.
He noted that in international politics, Moscow pretends to be a friend to many, but everyone knows the true price of that friendship.
Yermak expressed confidence that no one wants the aggressor state to win, as everyone — even China — knows what Russia is like when it has unlimited power.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine, together with its global partners, has moved closer to a possible end of the war with Russia. According to him, this is primarily due to the efforts of US President Donald Trump.
Donald Trump, in turn, said that Ukraine can still win the war, but added that this is unlikely to happen.
RBC-Ukraine previously reported that in September, after talks with Zelenskyy, Trump said that Ukraine could regain all territories occupied by Russian forces.
