US President Donald Trump does not believe that Ukraine will win the war against Russia, but he does not rule out the possibility, the US leader made this statement during a meeting with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

"Well, they (the Ukrainians - ed.) could still win it. I don't think they will, but they could still win it. I never said they would win it. I said they could win. Anything can happen," Trump said.

According to him, the war is a "very strange thing," with "a lot of bad and good things happening."

"If you look at the Middle East, I would say prior to us hitting Iran so hard, we could have never made that deal because you would have had a dark cloud over the Middle East where we took out their nuclear capability, which was one of the great military maneuvers of all time," the US leader said.

Trump allows for a Ukrainian victory

On September 23, after talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, US President Donald Trump stated that Ukraine could reclaim all territories occupied by Russian forces.

He also did not rule out that, after restoring its territorial integrity, Ukraine "could go even further."

According to him, such a scenario is possible with support for Ukraine from the European Union, as well as once the Russians realize all the problems in Russia’s economy.

At the same time, after the meeting with Trump, Zelenskyy said that the US leader’s position had likely changed. In particular, the Ukrainian president claimed that Trump now understands that Ukraine cannot trade away its territories.
