The Russian command stated that in the Vladimir region, where the 51st Main Missile and Artillery Directorate's (GRAU) arsenal is located, an ammunition detonation occurred due to a fire at a military unit, involving munitions stored in the warehouse, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.

According to Russia, firefighting units of the military unit and the Ministry of Emergency Situations were involved in extinguishing the fire. They claim that there were no casualties from the explosion, although locals are already reporting that munitions have hit their homes.

"The cause of the fire was a violation of safety requirements during work with explosives. As a result of the investigation, responsible officials will be held accountable," stated the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Explosions at the 51st GRAU arsenal

Explosions were heard today near the location of the 51st GRAU arsenal. Locals reported a fireball and a plume of smoke near the village of Barsovo in the Vladimir region, where the 51st arsenal of the Russian Ministry of Defense's Main Missile and Artillery Directorate is located.

Due to the explosions, an evacuation has been announced in nearby settlements. The entrance to the village of Barsovo has been closed off.
