Russia increases number of missile carriers in Black Sea: Possible salvo of about 48 Kalibrs
This morning, September 14, the Black Sea is hosting 16 Russian ships, including 7 equipped with Kalibr cruise missiles. This represents an increase from the 4 Kalibr-equipped vessels reported the previous night, according to the Ukrainian Navy.
Military sources clarified that this naval group, positioned in the Black Sea, could launch up to 48 Kalibr missiles in a single salvo if a missile strike were to occur.
In contrast, no enemy ships have been detected in the Azov Sea.
The Ukrainian Navy also reported the presence of 5 Russian ships in the Mediterranean Sea, with 4 of these being missile carriers capable of launching up to 24 Kalibr missiles.
The military also reported that over the past 24 hours, in the interests of Russia, the following vessels passed through the Kerch Strait:
- to the Black Sea: 3 ships, 3 of which continued toward the Bosporus Strait;
- to the Sea of Azov: 8 ships, 5 of which were coming from the Bosporus Strait.
It is worth noting that on the night of September 14, Ukrainian Defense Forces reported that Russia had deployed four missile-carrying ships to the Black Sea. The military warned of a potential threat of missile attacks using Kalibr missiles.
Earlier reports indicated that following the combined massive strike on Ukraine on August 26-27, during which Russian troops used Kalibr missiles from ships, enemy vessels were observed in the Black Sea regularly, though in small numbers.
