In the occupied city of Donetsk, a series of explosions rang out late in the evening on August 20, according to Russian and local Telegram channels.

Preliminary reports indicate impacts in the Kirovskyi district. It is noted that the explosions were heard in various parts of the city. A fire has also been reported.

Photos and videos from the occupied city have appeared online.

Information regarding possible casualties and destruction is being clarified.

The Russian authorities and the Ukrainian command have not yet commented on these reports.

It should be recalled that the occupation of Donetsk began in April 2014, when pro-Russian militants seized government buildings and proclaimed the so-called "DPR."

Since then, the city has remained under the control of Russian administrations and illegal armed formations, and in September 2022, Russia declared it annexed the territory following a pseudo-referendum.
